Introduction To DJing
This six week course covers essential training in DJing. No past experience is necessary. All you need a passion for music! Basically we meet you at whatever level you’re at. So, if you’re a complete beginner or a DJ that would like a little help getting flowing, we have you covered.
Our tutors provide hands on training on all formats of DJing using the latest Pioneer CDJ decks, vinyl turntables, DJ software packages (Traktor Scratch Pro), mixers, Traktor iPad app and more.
You will be shown how to set up and break down lots of the equipment used. We also provide lots of free tutorials and videos to watch in between classes, as well as providing access to lost of other very useful resources.
Introduction To Music Production
Our music production courses will have you making your own music in no time, with our highly experienced tutors helping you every step of the way.
We use the latest version of Ableton Live music production software because we believe it’s the best program currently available for making electronic music.
The studio has one of the biggest collections of synths, drum machines and other production equipment available in Northern Ireland.
You can decide if you what you want to use as you go along. We also have many video tutorials for you to watch in between classes so that you can practice what you learn in the studio. We’ll also show you how to access free trial copies of Ableton for home use.
Introduction To Promotion
We love sharing our knowledge of how to promote yourself with whatever it is that you wish to do, be it DJing, music production, touring as an artist, event management, starting a record label and more. There are many essential things that you need to get right to succeed and with a little help and guidance from people that practice these disciplines for a living, you will have the best possible chance of success.
At the end of the course, you will receive your very own Movin Music Academy certificate and will be entitled to a membership to our academy, which allows access to online support from our tutors ,where possible.

Intermediate & Advanced Training
This six week course is a follow-on from the introduction course and provides you with more in-depth training in whichever musical direction you wish to go next, be it Djing, music production, promotion, or a little bit of everything.
Over the duration of the intermediate and advanced courses you will have the ability to work more by yourself but with the guidance of a lecturer on a ‘One to one’ basis, so that you can quickly learn the skill-set you need for your desired art-form.
We provide many bespoke video tutorials for you to watch in between classes, so you can practice what you learn outside of studio time. We can even show you how to access free trial copies of Ableton for home practice. All you need is a computer.

We’re fortunate enough have one of the biggest collections of synthesisers, drum machines and production equipment available in Northern Ireland and we encourage you to use it from day one.
Our production courses cover all aspects of music production, from creating beats, melodies, sampling, synthesis, mixing, arrangement, audio effects, hands on hardware and software training, field recording, making your own samples, completing tracks, music theory and so much more!
We provide students with online tutorials, so that you can practice what you learn in the studio. We’ll also provide a free trial copy of Ableton for home use.
